Invite me to your community to help adults and teens develop a closer relationship to Torah. I will ask you to put yourselves in the shoes of certain biblical characters — sometimes animate, sometimes inanimate. I will ask you questions to bring out the thoughts and emotions of those characters as if you were experiencing them “in real time.” A typical session runs 20 to 40 minutes, though a mini-Bibliodrama during a service can run as little as 10 minutes.
The particular topic I will explore with you will depend on the time of year and the needs of the students or congregants. Some of the topics I have explored in the past include:
Seven Days of Creation
The Garden of Eden
Noah and the Ark
Lech L’cha — God Says “Get up and go!”
Abraham’s Family Dysfunction
The Binding of Isaac
Jacob Meets Rebecca
Moses at the Burning Bush
Whose Bones are These? Transporting Joseph’s Bones through the Wilderness
Ruth and Naomi
Be in touch! I’d love to come engage your community through Bibliodrama!
Rabbi,
I found your pondering on Eikev profound. I have been my own worst enemy at the peak of my success.
